La Union's Annual Bazaar... a Secret?
An old fashioned bazaar was held in La Union on October 1st to raise funds for the Our Lady of Refuge Church in La Union, New Mexico. Very little fanfare is generated by this bazaar as rarely do those outside of the community around La Union attend.
The bazaar which continued all day and into the night was a great success. Unfortunately, it wasn’t much cooler than when it was usually held in June. The heat continued but was pleasant for dancing in the evening.
There were many booths and the small fry usually came away with a conciliation prize of some sort. At this time the tabulation of the total amount received by the community for the church has not been finalized.
There were great food offerings such as gorditas and burritos and the community was enjoying a taste of old fashion fun as well.
If you want to go back in time and experience some great fun... this bazaar should be on eveyone's calendar for next year.
