Mt. Franklin's Shadows Change.
As the Sun takes on a lower angle with respect to the El Paso Southwest, the shadows on our mountains and desert areas will start to change.
With the advent of the beginning of Fall; all the shadows of the summer months will now be only memories. A whole new set of shadows and images will begin to form on the western face of the Franklin Mts. becoming deeper and more pronounced with each coming week.
At the end of November the shadows will seem to stay the same. They will change little until after Valentines Day as the Sun starts its climb back high into the sky where it will again heat up the Upper Valley by June.
Those living close to the Franklins can watch a specific area to see the changes... those in the Upper Valley will be able to watch the whole series of changes... reminiscent of the days of watching your own shadows on the wall as you played when a child. The cars would drive by on hot summer nights and the headlights would cast a projector like figure on the wall... then it would move...
