Officials for both the El Paso County Water Improvement District # 1 (EPCWID #1)and the Elephant Butte Irrigation District have announced that the last watering date will be around the 13th of October.

Those wishing to take advantage of this late season water must place their order in by October 7, 2005 to insure that the proper amount of water is ordered and can be released from Caballo Dam.

It was our first full allocation water year in the last three and EPCIWD #1 General Manager Jesus "Chuy" Reyes projects that because of all the snow melt 2006 will start out above the last couple of years (drought years) even if we don't have the record snow fall in the Colorado/New Mexico mountain ranges this winter.
