Courgars Shred Dawgs.

It was the kick-off of the 2005 season for High School Football and on a muggy Thursday night two great perennial football powerhouses flexed their respective muscles and got ready to do battle.

The El Paso Franklin Cougars and the Las Cruces Bulldawgs are known as two of the best teams in the region. So it was not just any game... nor any start of the season.

Their were first game jitters early on in the game as evidenced by almost back-to-back turnovers during the first 6 plays. Franklin QB was being rushed an threw an interception near the end-zone and then Las Cruces returned the favor with a fumble on their second play from scrimage.

The Cougars apparently lost the jitters first. Franklin scored first on a field goal but then turned up the heat and ran away with a surprisingly easy 55-7 win in front of a huge crowd which included hundreds of Las Cruces' faithful fans.
