40-day old, Baby Andres OK.

EXCLUSIVE:

A car driven by Carla Ramirez from Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico experienced a blowout and a subsequent roll-over on the Columbus Road in New Mexico, just before the Artcraft/Pete Dominici Hiway intersection on July 29th.

Riding in the car was Ramirez's infant son, Andres, who was 40 days old on the day of the accident. Also, in the car were Andres' two grandmothers.

Initially, the car swerved to the left and Ramirez tried to compensate and instead overcompensated thus sending the vehicle out of control to the right all the way across the hiway and into the desert striking a fence post.

Luckily, friends of the Ramirez' were enroute back to Casas Grandes and they arrived from El Paso shortly after the accident. They called for help. The friends would not give their names but did provide the information.

A multitude of emergency help and vehicles arrived on the scene in a short amount of time; these included, EMS, the Border Patrol and the Santa Teresa Volunteer Fire Department, also there were vehicles from the Doņa Ana Airport Fire Stattion and the New Mexico State Police.

All of the passengers in the vehicle were in good health but were taken to area hospitals for observation.
