Teens Celebrate "Virtually".
Many of the youngsters and their families were on hand to celebrate the completion of the "Teen Hangout" summer program hosted by the Northwest Library of the El Paso Community College.
There were the usual refreshments and pizza but the kids really enjoyed the 3-D computer games and the "virtual" interactive type of animation that seems so life like.
Before all of the festivities, there were presentations of all the work that the kids performed during their summer session classes. There was even a "runway" fashion show in which the teens that were enrolled in the Beauty and Poise class performed. There were displays of other works and the web graphics class had the kid's graphics projected on the big screen.
There were prizes provided to the kids almost every one or two minutes as a new name came out of the hat. It seemed that most of the kids or teens had at least 3 or 4 prizes.
EPCC Northwest Libary along with the City of El Paso Library system will host another "Teen Hangout" next summer if funding is continued, said librarian Anna Hernandez.
