Dual Viral Threats in Valley.

With the latest entrant in the ever growing viral threats brought about by mosquitoe transmission, it is essential that persons, especially the elderly, recently ill and infants are protected.

The Metroplex area of El Paso/Cd. Juarez/Las Cruces must now respond to the two viral threats now being transmitted by mosquitoes.

Along with West Nile Virus the newly detected Western equine encephalitis (WEE) can cause much of the same nuerological complications and even death.

Both will cause slight flu like symptoms or in most cases no symptoms at all or the symptoms may be more severe like a full-blown flu.

To prevent more serious complications: Keep hydrated. Keep immune functions high by eating a well balance diet and get plenty of exercise. Rest sufficiently. And if you feel a bit run down... get plenty of bed rest and wait till you feel better. Don't take chances.

It is important to remember that if any one experiences flu like symptoms during the mosquitoe season, they must take all steps to keep the disease from becoming aggressive. See a doctor immeditately or it may require hospitalization.
