Organized Public Input the Answer.

The public has much to offer the new City Council and indeed the whole community. However, there must be a system or organization in place to consolidate the scattered voices and egos in order to provide a sensible, prudent and listenable message.

Perhaps a non-profit corporation that would qualify for a IRS tax-exempt status, such as a 501 c(3) would be the structure needed to assist and to optimize the pro bono input of those in our community that have so much to offer.

It would have to be non-partisan and it would need to focus on the whole issue and not get stuck in NIMBY issues. There would not be any lobbying for elected officials or candidates from this body.

The question arises as to whether the new Administration would support and nuture such a "dangerous" facet of an integrated community.

Many other communities have watch dog organization that provide timely and pro-active input. If it can save the community hundreds of thousands of dollars or more then it is worth the investment.
