CHS’s Spring Garden Ready for Plant Sale.
Exotic ferns, impatiens, bougainvillea, bleeding heart, coral bells, columbine, gerbera daisy, petunia, mixed culinary herbs, exotic day lilies, as well as other various plants and herbs, will be on sale when Canutillo High School Horticulture class holds its first Spring Garden Plant Sale, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the CHS Greenhouse, 7311 Bosque Road in Canutillo.
CHS’s Spring Garden is managed and maintained by students enrolled in the school’s horticulture program. Keeley Leigh Muncrief, Agriculture/Horticulture instructor at CHS, has built up the program to offer horticulture students the best experience possible.
“Preparing for this sale has enhanced the in-class learning opportunities for these students who have worked hard all year to be ready for this sale. Students are benefiting by having more technologically advanced tools to learn with, which keeps up with industry standards for greater employability upon graduation,” said Muncrief.
Proceeds from the CHS Spring Garden sale will benefit the CHS horticulture program in its effort to provide students with learning experiences that provide them the opportunity to explore non-traditional career choices before they graduate.
