Westside Gets its First Full-Size Library.
The Northwest El Paso residents are thrilled about their new library. The Doris Van Doren Library had its offical grand opening Wednesday the 16th of March. The library has been functioning since January 2005 while going through its period of fine-tuning.
Located on Redd Road 1/2 mile west of Resler, the new library is filling the huge need for residents that were attempting to meet their needs at the smaller Belvidere Branch Library. There, the lines were long and the selection of books and magazines was limited as the Westside Branch is much smaller.
The library is of a modern design both outside and in. There is a large room devoted to compters providing word processing and internet capabilities. There are numerous computers throughtout the library that are used to search for information. Books, periodicals and other mulit-meida collections can be accessed through these computers.
There are scanners which the staff will operate for the public.
The new Doris Van Doren Library is both visually beautiful as well as functional. Take the family for a visit.

Tuesday 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Closed: Sunday & Monday.
