Motorcycle Wheely Leaves Rider on the Turf... Asphalt.
EXCLUSIVE "Do not try this at home" might have been an appropriate mantra for one Westside resident who decided to show boat on his Suzuki racing motorcycle.
A 31-year old man fell off of his motorcycle as he pulled a wheely... the "bike" crashed 100-yrds away. The driver was severly injured after attempting to perform a wheely shortly after leaving a red light at the corner of Redd Road and North Desert Blvd.
Witnesses indicated that the rider had apparently reved up the engine and popped the clutch such that the front wheel lifted off of the pavement. Unfortunately, instead of riding along this "uni-cycle" the rider was thrown off the back of the motorcycle. He didn't get to go along for the ride as the motorcycle proceeded without him all the way past Kohl's.
Fire and emergency vehicles were on the scene as were the shocked drivers of several cars who were behind the motorcycle and had to witness such a horrible sight. The bike was already traveling at a high rate of speed when the drive attempted the wheely, said one female witness who was visibly shaken. Besides possible spinal injury the man had severe cuts on his right leg after he slid upon the pavement.
