It was too much to expect. Oņate, one of the top ranked high school teams in New Mexico came to Gadsten stadium with high rankings to protect.

It was close at first as the Panthers from Gadsten rode the arm of QB Phil Rey keeping the Panthers tied in the first quarter.

But the Knights from Oņate soon took over the game... winning 54-19.

The fans and the cheerleaders were backing their team all the way. The Panthers never quit and they made Oņate earn every point.
