ASARCO Still a Threat.
In response to ASARCO’s recent filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the "Get The Lead Out Coalition" (GTLO) is planning three trainings to assist community members in filing claims against ASARCO relating to liability that ASARCO may have to address.
The trainings will be approximately one hour in duration, and will cover all of the basics of how to file a claim. Claim forms will be provided, and volunteer attorneys will be available to answer individual questions.
Individuals or groups who should consider attending the training are;
1) Former employees with health problems attributable to employment at ASARCO,
2) Individuals with chronic illness attributable to living near ASARCO, 3) Homeowners who have property contaminated by ASARCO’s operations, and 4) Families with children who have been exposed to high levels of Lead (Pb) and/or Arsenic.
For the date and location of the trainings, sign up on the GTLO website to recieve the next e-news, or contact the coalition at gettheleadout@flash.net
