No matter how much the El Paso Public Health Department may try to minimize the threat of this deadly disease; infection possibilities continue.

Even before the EPPHD has sent a sample to Austin for testing (last year the first causualty of West Nile Virus was confirmed even before the EPPHD had captured and tested enough samples to confirm that the virus was back in the area.

The EPPHD used the wind as an excuse for being neglegent with their prevention efforts.

The threat of West Nile is still present even as the temperature gets cooler. In fact, the mosquitoes are even more desparate for victims as they are pushed to a frenzy by the cooler weather.
