Upper Valley Gets Late Cool Down
The early stages of a drought was broken when the Rocky Mountain High took over and the Upper Valley region was one of the coolest spots in the country.
Some residents have indicated that their rain barrel has run dry for the first time in two years... since before the July 4th start of the floods of 2006. The mid-May rain brought relief to the heat and blowing dust of a very windy spring.
However, due to the cool weather that was quickly replaced with temperatures back in the high 90's, Upper Valley and Westside residents started to question the "Global Warming" trend. However, most were also not aware that the California inland valleys were hit with high if not record heat. In one case on May 12th an illegal immigrant who was working in the grape vinyards died due to heat exhaustion.
