Upper Valley's La Viña Winery Blues & Jazz Festival

The Upper Valley was abuzz with the sound of great blues and jazz accompanied by the clinking of wine glasses and many happy people. Headlining the Saturday evening set is the incredible local band - Frank Zona & the Urban Edge. Sitting in with Zona on saxaphone is Heiner Dammeier in the top photo.

For over 20 years the have been wine festivals held in the Upper Valley and for the past several years they have been held at the new La Viña Winery complex between La Union and Gadsden High School.

Ken and Denise Stark have devloped the concept of a wine festival into a two day event that includes several bands and combos as well as food and crafts vendors making the spring and fall events a unique experience.

Included in the mix are several nationally renowned artists who make it a point of always coming through town for the wine festivals.

And as we noted there are several areas for the kids to show their stuff including mountain climbing stations which seemed to have enticed several adults to attempt and actually get to the top.

The La Viña Winery is always available for wine tasting and for group tours so contact Denise at 575-882-3987.
