Earth Day in Upper Valley

The 38th annual celebration of Earth Day came and went without a parade or fair in the Upper Valley. But there was the anual FeatherFest at the Botanical Garden @ Keystone Heritage Park. There was a new exhibit called the "Butterfly House" where you could walk amongst living butterflies.

There were some celebrations in other areas too. El Paso artist had their "Projet on the Roof" on April 27th downtown.

The El Paso Zoo held its pre-Earth Day festivities with a "Party for the Planet" at the zoo. There were special Earth Day exhibits and activities conducted on Saturday, April 19. El Paso area businesses featured their “green” practices to show ways to conserve natural resources. Visitors were presented information about the city’s “blue bin” recycling program. The Zoo’s Education Department showed how animal habitats are disappearing and what people can do about it. There were arts and music presentations as well including Bella Fusion and African Drums.

Bombadiers Bar held a "Taller Earth" festival and party which included arts, music and performers, including fire dancers. The fan favorite band, Radio La Chusma, got the party going inside as the festival wound down outside.

To see more on the Westside's "Taller Earth" festivities... Taller Earth. Go Earth!!!!
