Canutillo Eagles Girls Softball Edge Ysleta.

The top ranked Canutillo Eagles Softball team was victorious after edging out the Indians of Ysleta. It was a cause for celebration after a hard fought 13-12 win with the dust blowing at Canutillo High School.

The Eagles scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to maintain their district lead. And while it looks as if the runner is actually flying over home plate she is just leaping for joy... the umpire isn't looking anyway.

It has been a very competitive season for the Eagles as they have had a fierce battle to stay atop the District 2-4A standing. The Eagles are 7-1 in district with the lone lose to second place Riverside on March 7, 2008 by a score of 9-2. The chances of the Eagles and the Rangers meeting again in the playoffs is likely.

So after a tough victory the Lady Eagles were more than happy to show their smiles for our readers. Way to go Eagles!
