Warm Weather Means Cotton Farming Preparations Begin.

The temperatures were playing with Spring like weather and these large tractors were busy preparing a large Upper Valley field just over the state line in New Mexico.

Water is expected to be plentiful this year and with commodity prices going up there are predictions that more cotton will be planted this year. In past years with the water levels running low in the Elephant Butte and Caballo dams, cotton has been passed over in favor of grain crops or just leaving the land fallow.
