Spring Blues Fest at La Viña Winery.

It's time to thank our lucky stars. This weekend, the Stark’s, of La Viña Vineyards and Winery, are throwing a bash... and your invited. At New Mexico's oldest winery, the ancient tradition of winemaking continues along the Don Juan de Oñate trail.

They must have an in with the Farmer’s Almanac because they usually get a lucky break themselves and the weather is "like butter".

Not to worry. The music will be great and the food sensational and the guests a delight no matter what. But, I'm betting that the winds cooperate and it is going to be great.

And to top it all off, what could be better than to sample some of La Viña's fine wine. Yep. It's time to kick out those weird winter blues and kick up your feet stomping to some real hot Blues... did I mention... dancing is allowed... Oh, My Gosh!

There are always great vendors that add a touch of flea market, farmer's market and gallery row to the great event. These are at least two days of relaxation and wine tasting and... in case you didn't know... great blues and jazz. Lots of Jammin' Mon!

While the wine flows and the music fills the air there will be the milling of crowds and friends seeing long lost friends.

There will be events and games for the kids. And, of course, children of all ages can get their face painted.

Along with some great BBQ and turkety there is usually roasted corn and ice cream sandwiches for desert. I guess it seems like a picnic and people pick up on the ambiance.

See you at the La Viña this Weekend.

Directions...

From Downtown... go to I-10. Get off on Artcraft and head west. Right on Westside Drive (second light) and drive all the way to the stop sign. Left... and then real quick curve right. Head down Hiway 28 all the way through La Union NM and 1 mile later on your left... well, you see the cars.

Or if you choose... take the norther route. I-10 to Vinton. Get off and head west to Doniphan and go straight at the light. Over the Vinton Rio Grande Bridge. Then go west on Vinton Road and left at the T. Continue west on South Vinton. When you get to Hiway 28... right.
