EP Youth Orchestra & EPSO Collaborate in Performance.
After their first full year under their belt in 2006, the El Paso Youth Orchestra (They havs since dropped the 'Symphony'from their name.) was up to the task of performing with that other symphony orchestra in town... The El Paso Symphony Orchestra.
The first half of the program featured the El Paso Symphony Orchestra in de Falla's Three Cornered Hat Suite No. 2, and Ravel's La Valse. Our very own Adrian Baule, EPYO flute, will perform Ibert's Flute Concerto after winning our first concerto competition in January.
Then after intermission, EPYO will perform a piece on their own, Marquez's Danzon No. 2, but the highlight of the evening will be when the two orchestras (more than 125 musicians!) join together in Bernstein's West Side Story Symphonic Dances.
