Winter Gives Up Grip in Southwest.
Well, you can tell we have had a cold and wild winter. Everyone is talking about “It’s sunny outside”. As if we lived in Seattle or someplace.
Let me take you back to the wild weather of 2006. Let’s see. Drought. Drought. Drought... then came July 4th. The day the monsoon season started way back. In fact people talked about it as if it were clockwork. ‘It’ll rain today... it’s the fourth.’
Then came the MORE RAIN... MORE RAIN... MORE RAIN... then came those wonderful dry and sunny days in October and November... and we started wondering... are we ever going to have Winter?
Then like a mousetrap... the arctic air poured into the Upper Valley and we had low overnight temperatures down into the teens.
Forget the warm days and sunshine... not since November 30th of last year.
It has been cold in the mornings this February but about average and the temperature will be headed back into the high 60’s and low 70’s more and more frequent occurrence. It looks like the really cold and wet wintry weather is behind us... Hah! Just wait until April. But maybe not. There is something brewing in the South Pacific... more on that later.
