Last Years Weeds Yielding Bumper Crop.
When it comes to the garden, do you know what the One... Two punch is?
One is rain and Two is weeds.
Boy, did we get a ton of both last year. Well, don’t blink because the rascals are back for Act II. We have spotted areas along the canals and on the edge of fields where the weeds are so thick that it makes most carpets seem like tattered rags.
Solution. Don’t spray the whole yard because you’ll kill everything. Instead, if they are in an area where you are going to till or turn over, wait as long as you can and get some good organic material out of them and them work them into the soil.
If they are in areas where you don’t want to disturb the soil, you can take a hoe and just scrape the soil and take them out at the roots. Be careful that you don’t leave them out and they get rained upon. If you do, they will continue to grow unless they dried out completely.
