Celebrity Chefs Brings Out the Good Taste in All.
If you missed the grand assortment of tantalizing flavors at the 14th Annual Celebrity Chefs fund-raising banquet... words are going to necessarily come up short. For one good reason. There were so many great tastes and flavors that the mind went into overload. The short... a once in a lifetime treat.
As soon as you entered the Judson Williams Convention Center you knew that evolution had seriously failed us humans. There they were, regular Joes, CEOs, VIPs and Bon Vivants alike, walking around with more plates on their two hands and arms than a waitress in a New Jersey Diner. But, as we said before, with good reason.
Note the picture of Mark Heinz, owner of the Greenery Restaurant and Market at Sunland Park Mall, pitching in to help his two chefs and five assistants because the line for his sumptuous delicacies was getting longer and there were cries of “Storm the Castle”.
What was all the fuss about? Just to give you an idea. Heinz is shown preparing mini-pizzas with portobello mushrooms that just made you stop in your tracks. The Greenery’s entree was a soft as butter Veal Cheek in a subtle marinara sauce. This was out of this world. Then to top it off you had Greenery Chef Jonathan Bowden’s Lemon Meringue Cake. The meringue was flame stiffened right before your eyes by Chef Bowden.
If Heinz’s carefully crafted entrees and dessert didn’t leave you dazed and confused there were almost too many other delightful dishes and desserts to try. And try them we did.
