Old Country Home on the Chopping Block.

A sign of the times or just times getting tough. The beautiful home that we featured in Upper Valley Living Magazine earlier this year is now up for sale. Besides being one of the most historic adobes in the valley there are horses being kept there as well.

Now, it wouldn't be such a loss if someone who respects the valley history would buy it but as Rev. Todd Marhler said "We put a price of $640,000 on it" and at that price it seems it doesn't appear that a family will buy it. Instead, it seems that commercial use may be in the future and according to Marhler, there is the possibility of commerical use on it in "20 years".

That would mean destroying another valley landmark. Recently, after filming was finished, he old wooden home that was the filming site for parts of "Glory Road" was recently torn down.

The land surrounding his home was recently re-zoned and development has begun. Marhler may be tired of the urbanization of the valley and wants to move. But at that price the big sign on his lawn will be there for a while.
