Casino Gets Ponies Back for Winter.
Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino will return to live horseracing on December 15th. The racing scene leaves the Upper Valley in April and the horses get to race in cooler tracks like Ruidoso Downs or other New Mexico tracks.
However, this year those late autumn races were getting mighty cold in northern New Mexico. The horses will appreciate the back to autumn temperatures that Southern New Mexico will provide as the cold front that knocked the socks off of the area at the end of November has retreated.
