The Lull Between Summer Hot and Autumn Cool.
2006 has not been the most usual in weather patterns. To say the least... it has been one of great extremes. Some people can't seem to remember that we were in a drought for over a year... 2005 spring to 2006 July 4th. Then the rains came.
Like clock-work, the rains started in the evening of July 4th... just as they had for many years before. But, as we know, this years monsoons were not going to be that infrequent.
But alas, the clouds have gone away... except everytime there is a hurricane along the western Mexican coast... we still get some showers... or heavy rains...
You can see the pecans still haven't started turning... the cotton is almost ready for pickin' and the sky is wide and blue. Before, the weather gets really cool as in fresh... enjoy the warm transition days between the seasons.
