Christian Gonzalez, CHS Graduate Awarded $1,000 CAFE Scholarship
Christian Gonzalez, a 2006 Canutillo High School graduate, was awarded a $1,000 Canutillo Alumni Foundation for Education (CAFE) scholarship recently, raising the total to ten scholarships awarded to CHS graduates by CAFE.
The award is based on academic achievement, involvement in the community, need for financial assistance, essay submission, and personal interview.
Gonzalez achieved a 92.197 grade point average, which ranked him 26th in a class of 262 seniors. He was also involved in athletics and band at Canutillo High School. In the fall, Gonzalez plans to pursue a degree either at the University of Texas at El Paso or Sul Ross University, where he hopes to play college basketball.
Look for it at those businesses on our web site on the Westside & Upper Valley. Also look for it at restaurants, gyms, salons & food stores... always ask if your favorite business has them... and if they don't ask them to support their community magazine.
