Dancing, Arabian Music and Great Food at Festival.
The Westside Church on Festival held its fabulous bazaar recently and had lots of music, dance and... great food. St. George’s Eastern Orthodox Church was the site for great times. St. George's put on it's annual festival just to get everyone ready for summer. There were many tents set up to beat the heat and there was plenty of good food to make you just want to sit down and listen to the music.
Several brave souls got up and performed traditional Middle Eastern dances and there were some young dancers... who weren't too shy about showing off their star quality... getting in on the act also. Some of those in attendance were very much familiar with Middle Eastern dancing and then there were those that joined in the circle and got a taste of the the slow but rhythmic swaying and stepping (Photo left).
The heat wasn’t too hot yet... and there was a nice breeze up near the mountain off of Mesa.
There were tents set up all over as well as having a food banquet facility at with in the church buildings.
Did someone say American Idol contest??? The three girls said they love to dance and the "Arabian music" is fun to dance to. Some of the younger dancers are seen in the photo at bottom right...
Along with the live music a great mood setter was the drummer who kept up staccato like percussion that made you want to dance.
Next year... be there.
