Summertime... Silver City Blues Festival.

There are many good things about summertime... and the heat isn't one of them. Unless, you go up to the cool pines in Silver City and experience some of the greatest names in blues as they crank up the heat in this beautiful little town. So when the Memorial Day Week-End arrives... Start your summer with a never to forget weekend in the cool town of Silver City.

For those of you who are lucky enough to have made your reservations already... you can look forward to the best blues music in an intimate and fun setting. If your still interested, you can get on some of the cancellation lists at the hotels and motels and maybe get a room. Others, will just drive up for Saturday from El Paso or Las Cruces and not worry about where to stay.

What is so great about the Silver City Blues Festival is that they have thought of everything. Starting with Friday Night. After you get checked into your room and have dinner there are plenty of venues to get you a reeling and a rockin'. There is a free Street Dance in town featuring the Brandon Perrault Band.

Or you can drive up to the littler town of Pinos Altos and have dinner and get to hear our homeboy Pat "Guitar Slim" Chase and Pat Dutton cranking out the heavy guitar and harmonica blues. If you want to stay in town... then after the Street Dance you can go to the Buffalo Dance Hall for some fun blues and dancing.

Saturday is the full day of heavy hitting action with changes of pace. You are always amazed at the incredible mix of musicians that come at you... one after another. The Phil Guy Band is going to keep the fans dancing at the park until about 10 P. M. The Saturday Night feature band closes out the awesome day before they take a break and get together for a Jam Session that will knock your socks off. One of the past year's jams was a once in a life time session with Coco Montoya previously with the John Mayall Band and Little Ed from LIttle Ed and the Imperials. Woooooo!

Sundays are more mellow and there are several acts that will be acoustic and massage everyone's bones from all that dancing the day and night before.
